FUN IN THE SUN

FUN IN THE SUN
My husband travels quite a bit for work. We were lucky this time around because we got to follow along!! When he first mentioned that we were going to Longboat Key in Florida,  I was worried about what we would do there for so long. I could not have been more wrong in my thinking and this trip ended up being one of my all time favorite trip with Dannica!

We had the beach to ourselves almost every single day!!

Gorgeous beach with crystal clear water!

Clay like soft sand <3

Many of you who follow me on Instagram have asked me where I took the photo of Dannica playing with the oversized chess pieces on the beach. We stayed at The Resort at Longboat Keys and they had so many of these adorable play areas for kids. Here are a few photos below:

Dannica had so much fun pushing around and hugging these oversized chess pieces 🙂

Just loved how kid friendly the whole place was!

Yes…she is kissing the knight…

How adorable is this little beach restaurant shack for your toddlers to play in!!

One is the loneliest number…

Sometimes, I wonder what she thinks about…

I think she misses her sister <3

The resort offers everything you could want: golf, tennis, kids’ camp, pool amenities, and beach water sports rentals that range from rafts to kayaks to paddle boards. Their private beach is also so beautiful. I loved the natural landscapes, and the beautiful boardwalks going straight out onto the beach.

Beautiful natural landscapes up and down the beach.

Can’t get enough of this view!!

Just loved this boardwalk to the beach!

Running out to the beach every single day!

Aside from the kid friendly beach and pool area, what I loved most about this resort was how empty the beach was Every. Single. Day. Most of the days we were out on the beach, it was just me and Dannica as far as the eyes could see!! And the two sunsets we were able to see, we only had to share the view with one or two couples who were just strolling by!

Picture perfect sunset every single day.

My favorite time of the day!

The town was also so charming and everyone was so friendly. We loved the family vibes at Dry Dock restaurant where people literally sail right into the restaurant’s dock, park their boats, grab a bite and then sail back home. We also loved all the restaurants around St. Armand’s Circle, especially Crab and Fin. We can’t wait to go again next year and hopefully they will change their pet policies by then so that we can all come as a family!

Collecting sea shells by the sea shore…

We can’t wait to come back again next year!!

SHOP OF THE MONTH | CLOTH SHOPPE
It’s officially the start of summer, and for those of you who are looking for those quintessentially easy-breezy summer staples, you have to check out Cloth Shoppe. It is this month’s feature shop and it is such a beautifully curated online boutique.

Love this NellyStella romper they carry- the print is the perfect mix of fun and girly, and the shoulder ties allow for it to grow with your babe.  The fabric is so incredibly lightweight–perfect for the summer!

This adorable two piece swim set by Velveteen Clothing is so perfect for the beach! I love the stretchy halter ties (so that you can just easily pull it over your babe’s head) and the pretty flouncy and fluttery top overlay.

Justine is the visionary behind Cloth, and she herself is a mother of two young children. She is passionate about holistic living so Cloth focuses on featuring unique, handmade and sustainable clothing and design whenever possible. She is also extremely gifted at discovering those shops that are yet to be discovered for their beautiful creations. Just to name a few, Cloth carries select pieces from Little Cotton Clothes, NellyStella, Indego Africa, Velveteen Clothing, Apolina, and my all time favorite–Daughter Co. All of which you will want your babes to live in. Here are some of my favorite pieces for this summer that Cloth carries.

This Daughter Co. Overalls is hands down my favorite piece for the summer. The linen is so soft and the color is an incredibly rich blend of the colors of the sand. The cross back ties have multiple button holes and so allows it to grow with your babe.

This Maja Romper is also by Daughter Co. and I love how lightweight the linen is. The shoulder ties offer the perfect flexibility and I just adore the nautical stripes and colors. You really can’t go wrong with this piece.

Cloth offers everything from baby  goods, to children’s clothing to select women’s pieces (for more information please visit their online shop or their Instagram page @cloth_shoppe). You will fall in love with all their effortless yet heirloom quality creations. And as a special promotion for my blog followers, Justine is offering 20% off your entire purchase with code BELLA20. This code is good from now until 6/7 so I would hurry! Her pieces go fast!

SHOP OF THE MONTH | VOILA BEBE SHOP
Many of you may know this already, but I love kids fashion (why is anything miniature just so darn cute?!). I used to be an account executive in a fashion PR firm in NYC representing some of the most talented women’s designers in the world. My passion for women’s fashion has now been funneled into children’s fashion. I get so excited when I discover new designers and unique shops that offer hard to find or one of a kind items. And I especially love supporting handmade or small shops because so much more detail, attention and love go into their pieces (just look at this off the shoulder jumpsuit that Voila Bebe Shop carries!). So I thought it would be fun to feature one shop a month and share with you why I love the shop, what makes it different or special, favorite looks they carry, and offer you a special promotion code or giveaway!

Voila Bebe Shop – Tuchinda

The first feature shop in this series that I want to introduce you all to is Voila Bebe Shop. They carry heirloom and quality clothing from some of the most beautiful brands such as Tocoto Vintage, Popelin, Tuchinda, Morley and so many more. You can check out their Instagram page @voila_bebe_shop to see what other designers and looks they carry. The shop’s co-founder, Ana has an incredible eye for finding delicate and ethereal pieces that you will want to keep forever and ever. In addition to clothing, they also have thoughtful and beautifully crafted toys perfect for your babes. But, what I love above all is that Voila Bebe shop gives back by donating a part of their proceeds to Make a Wish Foundation– a foundation that that our family holds very dear to our hearts.
Below are some of my favorite looks that they carry–

SOUTHERN CHARM

SOUTHERN CHARM

My husband had his 15 year reunion in Durham, NC so while we were out there, we decided to make a short road trip over to one of my favorite cities in America. Charleston! And it is as darling and lovely as I remembered it.

The city is just so charming and each and every block is overflowing with history and character. We loved walking down the city streets and I swear I have never been to a more picturesque city–the vibrant and colorful homes, the mature trees, the over abundance of pretty stoops, resting areas and window planters…I could just spend a whole week walking around downtown Charleston.

THE FIRST POST

THE FIRST POST

I never thought I would ever get here. It’s been a little scary, but also exciting at the thought of taking the blogging leap. At the end of the day, I felt it was the perfect way to document our everyday lives and at the same time to create a space where I can connect with other like-minded moms.

Ideally my goal here is to inspire and to see the whimsical and fun side to the everyday and mundane mom life. I personally love to see something that makes my heart skip a beat or makes me forget the 513 things that went wrong that day. I love when I see women realizing their dreams and potential. I love when I see these women teaching their children to do the same. And I hope I can do the same.

If you already follow me on Instagram, that’s really where all this started from. I wanted a better way to address comments and messages that people were leaving behind. These feedback ranged from how I got my two girls to nap together to how I edit my photos to where I get all of Dannica’s outfits and inspirations from (speaking of, does anyone else envy their daughter’s closet?!) With that being said, please leave a comment if you’d like me to post about a particular topic! If not, I’ll just continue onward with more baby spam 😉
